NAMMCO is organizing the international conference and gastronomic showcase “Marine Mammals: A Sustainable Food Resource“, highlighting the use and importance of marine mammals as a food resource. The conference will be held on 5 and 6 October 2022 in the Nordic House in Tórshavn, Faroe Islands
The reality today is that coastal communities around the world have used marine mammals sustainably for food for thousands of years and continue to do so. Many marine mammal populations are healthy and robust enough to support regulated and precautionary catches.
Canadian Chef Benoit Lenglet will present seal meat during the workshop and the gastronomic showcase. There will be participating chefs from all around the world who are working with sea mammals and they will be working with the Head Chef Janus Einar Sørensen from the Faroes Islands.
