Cyril Boudreau is Senior Fisheries Strategist with the Nova Scotia Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture. Cyril has worked in several positions within the department since 2001, focusing on business and policy development for both the aquaculture and marine seafood sectors. Part of this work involves the seal harvesting sector; Cyril has represented the province at seal management meetings, and regularly works with industry to revitalize sealing within the province. With an academic background in marine biology, Cyril’s first exposure to seals and sealing issues came in the early 1990s, when he was part of a research team working on a seal worm intervention and contraception project at Dalhousie University.
