In 2014, Caroline completed a Master’s degree studying mother-pup communication in harbour seals. She obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2020, and is currently a PhD student studying wildlife disease epidemiology. Caroline has been studying Gulf of St. Lawrence seals since 2011, and actively participates in public health, wildlife diseases, and animal welfare research projects related to seal harvest practices in Eastern Canada. Her research aims to promote sustainable, safe, and humane hunting practices.
